The anchorage isn’t very good, and the marina is full because of the [Atlantic Rally for Cruisers], so we re-anchor several times. We’re chastised by a French woman in possession of a volume of American vulgarities when we go stern-to to the seawall, supposedly in her path of swing should the wind change. We move because I don’t want her, having freshly begun her own voyage, to die of rage before her first crossing. (page 233)
